Texas-based print designer Jenny Smiley believes in living life with a wink. And that memories of the places and pastimes that shape us are worth celebrating. She embraces a spirit of sophistication mixed with whimsey, where traditional prints take on a new twist. Like a house with great “old bones” gets a makeover on the interior, when you look closely at any of her prints, you’ll find a hidden surprise inside.

After a whirlwind night of inspiration, Jenny’s background in both interior and graphic design led her to create HONEY + HANK. Many of the prints you’ll find on the site stem from that very first night when she decided to throw the map of the USA out the window and treat the states like any other shape. After sketching and digitizing each state, she allowed herself to flip, scale or rotate them (they still needed to be recognizable) but beyond those guardrails, they could become anything. And they became so many things. The patterns ballooned to 100+ that night, and the next morning, she told her husband, Taylor, “I think this is a brand”.

The prints came to life as textiles: Jenny launched the lifestyle brand with pillows and quickly added cloth napkins, made locally in Dallas, Texas. She’s since added tea towels, melamine plates and serving platters, coasters, top knots, embroidery, all adorned with her signature “design with a wink” prints. Beyond her initial stateside collection, she’s expanded her concept to include prints made from holiday icons, pastimes, and pups.

You may have heard of HONEY + HANK products – they’ve been highlighted in media like Good Morning America, The O Magazine, Southern Living, Country Living, Woman’s Day, and Real Simple – but, in every print, there are surprises that make our customers feel seen, special, and celebrated. All to create a priceless “I know you” moment between the giver and the gifted.

There’s even a wink in our name. “Honey” and “Hank” are the grandparent names Jenny’s two kids call her parents. Jenny is very close with her mom, and Honey makes frequent appearances to share hostess wisdom and design tips.

Jenny has big plans for new product categories and collaborations, but in every project, you’ll find a hidden surprise, and hopefully, a reason to wink, too. Follow along!
